Nick Allen is Director & Editor from Sydney, Australia. 

After graduating from Sydney Film School in 2016, Nick got a start in film by working as a crew member on numerous film and TV sets. More recently, Nick has settled into the role of a Director’s Assistant. 

Throughout his career he has directed numerous music videos for artists with Sony Music. Both music videos, ‘Sentimental’ by Bella Amor and ‘Let You Go’ by GAZAL were featured music videos on ABCs Rage, with ‘Let You Go’ winning Best Australian Music Video at the CLIPPED Music Video Festival in 2022.

In 2023, Nick wrote and directed his first narrative short film KAR starring Nicholas Burton (Pieces of Her, The Artful Dodger), Essie Randles (Apples Never Fall) and Jack Voegt (Tint). It is now currently in the festival circuit for 2024.

Nick is mainly interested in making films that comment on strange social issues and behaviours. He loves to blend genres, with his favourites being satire and comedy. Nicks biggest inspirations are Ruben Östlund, Jacques Tati and the Coen Brothers.
